UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser for the Sahel Intervention to the Security Council

M. Ibrahim Thiaw, UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser for the Sahel, will address the Security Council during the information session « Peace and security in Africa: UNISS, an integrated response to peacebuilding and sustaining peace in the Sahel ». Prior to this event, M. Ibrahim Thiaw will meet the press during the Noon Briefing at the United Nations Headquarters

SPEAKER: Ibrahim Thiaw, from Mauritania, was appointed as the UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser for the Sahel in March 2018 to support the ongoing efforts to advance the recalibration of the United Nations Integrated Strategy for the Sahel
and the Implementation of the UN Sahel Support Plan.
